How to enable SSL for SMTP in Mozilla Thunderbird

– Open Thunderbird

– Select the Tools menu then Account Settings

At the bottom of the left menu, you should see Outgoing Server (SMTP). Select it and click Edit.

Set the Port to 465 and choose SSL from the available options at the bottom of the window.
